A relief sculpture series which my Russian heritage inspired. Animals portraying human characteristics (anthropomorphic features) . These works feature traditional folk art patterns, bright, decorative and floral, incorporated into wild elegant creatures. The floral patterns had to have the intricacy Russian folk art entails, but still stay in the realm of my artwork style. These works are relief sculptures on wood panel and painting in acrylic paint. They’re not as three dimensional as the majority of my work is. These works are sized roughly at 15 inches in height, a lot larger than I’m used to sculpting. The larger the artwork, the more intricate detail each piece can obtain.
