A portrait study of carnival freak show performers with physical deformities that deform our reality, and human oddities that oddly enough, we cannot help but revel in. This is a personal series, a long time in the making, which was inspired by circus posters from the late 19th century, along with Victorian and Edwardian fashion and cabinet card film photography. These characters are based on real people who showed at freak show circus’ on display during the late 1800’s. They have been interpreted differently in an exaggerated 3D sculpture illustration caricature form and glamorized in Edwardian fashions.
